L'implacable poursuite est le deuxième western que réalise l'acteur Richard Carlson connu pour son rôle dans L'étrange créature du lac noir.
Le scénario, d'après un roman de Bernard Girard (réalisateur de Ride Out for Revenge avec Calhoun) est un peu moins original que Four guns to the Border tourné quatre ans auparavant. La narration est toutefois bien huilée.
Rory Calhoun est de nouveau le héros après Four guns to the Border. Le rôle féminin principal (décidément très bien choisi après Colleen Miller dans Four guns to the Border) bénéficie de la présence de Beverly Garland. Enfin, on notera la présence de John Larch.
Un western en CinemaScope assez bien réalisé et avec un rythme soutenu.
Une solide série B

The Saga of Hemp Brown is actor Richard Carlson 's second and last Western. The screenplay is a little less original than Four Guns to the Border released fours years before. Rory Calhoun was the hero again with the beautiful Beverly Garland and a ruthless John Larch.
A western shot in Cinemascope, fairly well done with a fast pace.
